About the Role
We are looking for a driven and experienced sales professional to join our exhibitions team, with a primary focus on driving revenue growth across our exhibitions portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding commercial targets. They will excel at building strong relationships with prospective clients, increasing average order values, and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting. Additionally, they should possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of creating comprehensive, value-based packages tailored to client needs.
The main responsibilities include selling exhibition and sponsorship packages for our events, achieving individual sales targets, and working with the management team to ensure the success of each event. While the role will emphasize new business development through telesales, it will also involve attending industry events, conferences, and re-engaging with previous customers.
Core tasks
- Actively prospect for new business opportunities while managing relationships with existing clients.
- Cultivate strong relationships with prospective clients of all sizes through a blend of phone outreach and face-to-face meetings.
- Identify and qualify new customer leads, closing deals to meet the growth targets outlined in the sales plan.
- Gain a deep understanding of clients’ business needs, allowing you to create tailored solutions that align with their requirements.
- Stay well-informed about trends and key drivers in the supply chain, logistics, and robotics sectors to effectively position our offerings.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of Akabo Media’s events, including audience demographics, content focus areas, and customer profiles.
- Consistently meet activity goals, including CRM updates and call targets, to maintain a healthy pipeline.
- Demonstrate strong forecasting abilities, ensuring accurate and timely sales projections.
What is required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience: Two years of sales experience, exhibitions sales experience preferred.
- Interest in the supply chain, logistics or robotics industries.
- Knowledge of B2B events industry preferred.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Strong customer focus
