About Akabo Media: Akabo Media produces magazines, websites, exhibitions and conferences primarily for the logistics, supply chain and transport industries.

About the Role: We are currently looking for an intelligent, creative and highly motivated Conference Producer to join our team in order to expand on the core portfolio of Akabo Media conferences, awards and bespoke events.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years commercial B2B event production experience in conferences or summits and looking to take the next step in their career. They will have a proven track record of launching conferences, achieving results and delivering on deadline. They are ambitious with high standards, a wish to deliver quality events and to be part of creating something new.

They will have a high level of commercial awareness and be target and deadline driven. As part of a growing company, they will be required to actively seek out opportunities and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.

They require excellent influencing skills, a capability of understanding brands and their value and working closely with editorial and sales teams.??

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research into the relevant market and topic focusing on first-hand research via phone or face-to-face meetings
  • Write commercially-led and highly detailed programme and sales copy in the language of the market
  • Secure top level speakers as defined during the research phase
  • Develop the focus of awards, recruit judges and drive the award development process
  • Carry out post-event administration
  • Continuously communicate and update event marketing/sponsorship/operations /sales managers on progress against targets, pipeline and feedback from market
  • Manage the event on the day to ensure the most successful event possible

Key Competencies:

  • Minimum one year’s conference production experience
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated, with an ability to meet aggressive performance goals
  • Skilled in direct telephone sales and building relationships quickly
  • Experience of selling event sponsorship (useful)
  • Desire to learn about and engage with industry trends and challenges
  • Ability to work very closely with wider Akabo Media team

Targeted Performance:

  • Deliver commercially viable conferences/briefings/awards
  • Provide marketing with as many new sources as possible for each event
  • Work closely and cooperatively with the sales team to ensure all sponsorship information is accurately and effectively handled
  • Work closely and flexibly with the editorial team to ensure communication, alignment of objectives and strong relationship building
