Commercial Editor

Akabo Media produces a number of magazines, conferences, exhibitions and awards in the transport, logistics and supply chain industries. Many of the brands, events etc., have been in existence for many years, some have only recently been launched.

We have an ambitious expansion plan in place and content is at the heart of that plan. We already have a number of sponsored and client-led commercial projects and wish to expand on those as well as ensure our highly valued content reaches the right audience.

To that effect, we wish now to appoint a Commercial Editor to oversee Akabo Media’s portfolio of content led projects. We expect you will have come from an editorial features background or conference production background, either way you will understand the importance and integrity of content.

You will work closely with Akabo Media’s Events and Marketing Director and Commercial Head to shape the strategic direction of Akabo Media’s commercial projects.

Main activities and responsibilities
Oversee Akabo Media’s portfolio of sponsored and client led commercial projects
Editorial management of Akabo Media’s series of annual supplements and overseeing supplements agenda
Attending/running roundtables, conferences, Awards, master classes and other live events
Speaker acquisition
Work on Akabo Media’s bespoke, client led projects – including white papers, in-depth features, roundtables
Work on and manage Akabo Media’s conference portfolio

Key competencies
Ability to use social media tools to promote content
Working with a variety of multimedia content
Strong presentation skills
Ability to express an informed, interested opinion.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
Journalistic or conference production experience
Ability to translate complex information into readable resource
A high level of commercial awareness
